About CORAmaps
CORAmaps GmbH is a start-up company from the Technische Universität Darmstadt founded in December 2019. We are a team with comprehensive expertise in the fields of remote sensing, machine learning, imaging radar, geodesy, environmental sciences and business administration. We believe AI-based interpretation of satellite based radar data to be the key technology for instant information on the status of land anywhere in the world. In this context, we laid a special focus on detailed and rapid information about agricultural areas with regard to the questions what grows where, how much of it and in what quality.
Management Board
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Damian Bargiel
Prof. Dr Damian Bargiel is a recognised expert in the field of remote sensing and geodata analysis. With a particular focus on the use of satellite data to analyse environmental changes and agricultural processes, he develops innovative methods for processing large amounts of data. In his research, he combines machine learning and advanced algorithms to create precise and efficient solutions for the interpretation and application of geodata. As a professor at Hochschule Geisenheim University (HGU), Professor Bargiel shares his knowledge with students and promotes projects that address societal challenges such as climate change and sustainable land use. His work is characterised by interdisciplinary thinking and practical solutions.
Dr.-Ing. Markus Huhn
Dr Markus Huhn is an experienced engineer with a background in industrial engineering and specialises in geodesy and land management. In addition to his technical expertise, he is also responsible for the commercial area and works as a project manager in various research projects. In this role, he leads interdisciplinary teams and develops innovative solutions for the efficient management and utilisation of large amounts of data, which are particularly relevant for applications in the fields of agriculture, geodesy and land management. Dr Huhn combines technical expertise with economic understanding to create practical, scalable solutions for numerous industries.
